Then I would try the automatic rescue mode of the install dvd. It might work. Or the suggestion other people did. What I suggested was the manual rescue. I can describe the procedure briefly: Boot from the install dvd, manual rescue mode. You get a text linux console as root. Mount manually your normal "/" filesystem in "/mnt" - ie, you will have your normal system mounted in "/mnt". You might need to mount also the dvd somewhere, too, I don't know for sure right now. Find the old glibc rpm and install it using: rpm --install --force glibc....rpm --root /mnt You need of course knowledge of how to use a linux text console and commands; that is too much for me to explain here.
