Eh? Dangerous in what way?
Do you mean running a given installation on "bare hardware" sometimes
and under VMware at others? Assuming you install enough hardware
drivers (disks and video would need two each, probably), the only
problem I can think of is the fact that Windows sees different hardware
configurations and under XP and later this can trigger Windows
Activation to decide that the installation has moved to a new machine
in violation the license.
