Yes. The VMware products can use either virtual drives (files in the host OS that hold the contents of virtual drives as seen in the guest OS) or physical drives (or partitions) that are accessed directly by the guest OS. At least VMware Workstation (not free of charge) can do this. I haven't checked to see if VMware Server (the zero-cost product) can do so as well.
