I use to favour Firefox for my web browsing. Recently I upgraded my computer to AMD core duo processor and a 64 bit version of Firefox does not work properly. Java does not work, flash animations fail and the major problem is that when I try to access HTTPS servers. I get this message:
The connection was reset The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
I can still access the same page with OPERA without any trouble.
You must be fairly new to the list. This has been covered many times, the 64bit version of Firefox does not yet have 64bit plugins for java and flash. You will need to install the 32bit version of Firefox for them to work.
I'm running 10.2 on AMD 64 X2 4600+ and see the same frustrating reset connections to many HTTPS sites in Firefox. Are plug-ins the reason for this behavior? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
