I"m trying to help a friedn set up his computer on 10.2.  He has a
Canon MP600R printer, scanner, kitchen sink.  It's set up as a network
device, and connected to his router.  We've setup network printing
(using the Canon 4200 driver) and it works perfectly.

The next step is the scanner.  It is also a network device.  I know
the IP address of the scanner/printer (used it to configure the
printer) but...... I don"t really know how to set up the scanner as a
network device.  The YAST scanner setup has an option to enable or use
a network scanner, but it seems to be expecting a scanner daemon
running on another server.... whatever the Canon scanner is doing, it
seems that it isn't providing the right answer back...

Has anyone else played with network scanners?  and maybe got the
scanner on the Canon MP600R working?
