[opensuse] Software updater ORB hangs

Does someone have a recommendation on what to do gracefully when the
software updater Orange ORB gets to 99% and then just hangs for days?
It is even telling me that new updates are available but I don't know
if there is a recommended way to kill the current process and then
start the d/l for the new stuff. I am using 10.2.
