You should not *install* it in Firefox, but *save* it somewhere. (I have a directory "downloads" for this type of thing). Then in TB click Tools>Extensions>install. It opens up a file dialogbox where you can click on the file just saved. bingo, it installs *in TB* this time.
Regards,
I know. But how? I click on the link and it tries to install it. I save the link address and it does the same. How can I get it to download the file and not try to install the *@!* thing? Believe me, if I could find a way to download it into my folder at /home/peter/downloads/thunderbird I would do just that.
