rmmod uhci_hcd
plug the device (no problem)
modprobe uhci_hcd the device is mountable
but unplug and replug->freeze
I'm probably to do an update (for this I will be obliged to install a net card, but I can do this)

However, here's what i've been told to try by kernel people: try to
unload ehci-hcd kernel module (run 'rmmod ehci-hcd' as root) and see if
that helps. This will disable USB 2.0, and leave you with 1.1 (there
were reports of such problems when using 2.0)
