If your hardware clock is configured for UTC, as is usual in Linux &
Unix, the 5 hour difference is normal. This means the hardware clock
should be 5 hours ahead of your local time. How are you setting the
clock? NTP is the best method. Also, if you dual boot into Windows,
you'll have to set the hardware clock to local time and tell Linux that
it's set to local time, rather than UTC.
