The file name does not start with a '. That's how the console labeled it when it wrote the error message.
I'm sorry, but we're back to the first question...
... please post the output from the following command once you are in the profiles directory:
ls -al
It will look something like this:
drwxr-xr-x 2 mark users 192 2006-10-01 00:35 . drwxr-xr-x 34 mark users 1808 2007-04-01 01:17 .. -rw-r--r-- 1 mark users 1703 2006-10-01 00:27 bclib -rw-r--r-- 1 mark users 254 2006-10-01 00:27 bctests
But.... I want to know what YOUR ls -al looks like... please.
Same as what you have. My first file is your bclib and the sRGB file is your bctests. Today when I reinstalled opensuse I used the DVD and installed the Adobe ICC Profiles (Big Mistake). I thought it would be easy to copy the .icc file that I had to the RGB Profile folder. Little did I realize that it would be as difficult as it has been. I very much appreciate the assistance and the time you all have put into this problem. From the stand point of the initial install the problem is really not solved. The way I solved it was to delete the profiles I installed from the DVD. I went to the Adobe web site and downloaded the tar file, extracted it and installed it using YaST2. After that I did a right click and copied the file in the RGB Profiles folder. I still don't understand why the file would be there and then not there. Maybe I'll never know. Maybe I'll get back to it another time on another computer, but for now I have use of a needed color profile and that was my original intent. So here's the ls -al from the profiles folder: total 3784 drwxr-xr-x 2 wda530106 users 4096 2007-04-01 02:14 . drwxr-xr-x 34 wda530106 users 4096 2007-04-01 02:14 .. -rw-r--r-- 1 wda530106 users 3852820 2005-11-03 06:01 adobe-color-profiles-1.0-1.noarch.rpm -rw-r--r-- 1 wda530106 users 2505 2007-03-31 21:47 gmail-to-outlook.csv -rw-r--r-- 1 wda530106 users 3024 2007-03-31 21:06 sRGB_IEC61966-2-1_noBPC.icc I just saw why the file didn't exist. I must be blind, illiterate and stupid. Why I didn't see the "_" after the sRGB the first time I did the ls -al is beyond me. Boy do I really feel stupid. The panic, in my ignorance, blinded me from what I should have seen all along. (Hangs his head in humiliation and mutters) I Hate Computers. Cheers, Dwain -- Dwain Alford P.O.
