HELP, I am trying to install linux suse 10.2 on my computer. I Know nothing about linux but need to learn. The install went easy. However, suse will not recognise my adsl modem so I have no internet access. In windows there is a program to setup internet and tell the computer whether you have dialup or dsl etc... I do not see it in the suse system.
I reloaded the software 3 times, in the install process it will not find my modem. I know the answer is probably simple but it is beyond me. Please help? Thanks
Okay, then tell us a few things. 1. What DSL modem do you have? 2. Is the computer directly connected to it or is the line going from modem to a router to the computer? 3. Do you have a static IP or a dynamic IP address? Though others will disagree, typically I don't setup the modem in SUSE. I simply connect to the network either with DHCP or static IP. The modem is somewhat transparent in my (and my friends') cases. -- kai Free Compean and Ramos http://www.grassfire.org/142/petition.asp http://www.perfectreign.com/?q=node/46 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
