Hi all,
this is my first posting so my apologies if it's off-topic or in the wrong place!
I have an Acer TravelMate 529ATX laptop which was perviously running OpenSUSE 10.1 with normally working sound support.
However when doing a fresh install from the 10.2 DVD, my sound no longer works. Configuring the sound card from YaST appears to work as expected, can play the test sound and alter the volumes. Module is snd_ali5451.
However I haven't found any apps that can see a configured sound device, except the command line tool for configuring ALSA, which also works fine.
XMMS does manage to play an audio CD after complaining that it can't see a sound device. The volume needs to be set via the YaST sound configuration or it's at some quiet default.
Is this a new bug?
Have fun, Darren
Hi Darren, Have you tried, on the command line, alsamixer to set the the settings. Then "alsactl store" to save the settings? Phil -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
