I do this with the "Menu" button, on my keyboard it's the button next to the
right Ctrl button (on this Logitech keyboard it has a pic of a dropdown menu
with mouse pointer on it)

KDE Control Center > Regional & Accessibility > Keyboard Shortcuts >
Application Shortcuts (tab) > scroll to Navigation & look for "Popup Menu
Context" Under Shortcut on mine it has "Menu" but you can change it to use
any key or combination by selecting "custom" and choosing your own.

Most definitely not the first :) at least on this planet, I wouldn't like to
speak for other lifeforms ;)
