Or your drive is going bad. I recently had a DVD+RW drive go flaky on
me after a few years of use. Writing got more and more unreliable, both
on CDs and DVDs. I was burning a lot of coasters, even on media from
the same spindles I'd successfully used in the past. I haven't worked
out whether it's dying or just dirty...I saw a DVD+/-RW burner at my
favorite surplus store and bought that, instead.
