Yes, Windows has a habit of doing that. You might be able to get back (almost) to normal by booting off a live CD and
using grub-install. Moral of the story is: If you're going to have a dual/multi boot machine with windows anywhere on
it, install windows first, THEN Linux (which will nicely detect you have windows installed and add an entry to Grub's
menu.lst for you
