I have Dell D820 laptop:
hvdmerwe@hanslt:~> lsscsi

[1:0:0:0] cd/dvd SONY DVD+-RW DW-Q58A UDS1 /dev/.tmp-11-0
Home machine, SATA HD and AOpen IDE DVD-RW.
