Glad to know I'm not alone! Hopefully alsa/suse/intel will soon release a
driver that provides a working analogue input.
I did notice the volume was much lower on this machine that it is on my old
machine which runs FreeBSD, but I only have Suse on this new one, so I can't
compare apples with apples.
