Hi All,
I have a office network with couple of workstations running OpenSUSE 10.2. Since they are all sharing same DSL link, I was wondering what is the best solution to mirror security updates and smart channels on our local server so they can use it instead of downloading updates and rpms from internet everytime they want to install something.
How you solved this ?
I will appreciate for all idea/tips&tricks :) Would it not be possible to establish a proxy server aka SQUID?
Routeoute all the machines through that. Then once a single machine downloads the update, it will be available locally for the rest. The only snafu is to stagger your update frequency. I have not done this so YMMV -- ======================================================================== Using SuSE 9.2 Professional with KDE and Mozilla Mail 1.7.13 Linux user # 229959 at http://counter.li.org ======================================================================== -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
