It turns out I can remove biostest to save space for the i386
mini-install CD; for x86_64 because space is too tight we can remove
rescue feature. After removing files /boot/i386/loader/isolinux.cfg must
also be updated to prevent user selecting missing features.

the only files mandatory are the /boot/.../linux and initrd

Problem solved.
