No and No. I am able to ping the server from ms.
Open all the netbios ports and microsoft-ds (ports 137 to 139 inclusive, and 445) for tcp and udp. You also need to allow broadcasts on port 137.
On Windows? on the Linux Server? Both? I have to figure out how to active NetBois.
