OK, take what information you have, including the ftp log extract, and
file a bug report. Be sure to state very clearly that the system is
hung, and you cannot get to a console.

Yes, download.opensuse.org automatically redirects you to some other
"suitable" server.. the definition of "suitable" being wholly unclear to
me (it isn't necessarily geography, because Yast keeps suggesting
servers in Germany and Hungary to me, though I think that locations
across the Atlantic are not necessarily "close" :-) ).

Not a problem.. I just wish we could have got a handle on this.
If you do get a resolution, please be sure to post a follow-up here,
even if just the URL of a bug report on the Novell bugzilla.
