I don't use Kopete as much though. I tried signing in with Kopete just to be
sure. But I don't know..whenever I right-click on the AIM sign at the bottom
right corner (which is used to connect to AIM)...I get an option to modify
the status. I select online, and the icon instantly turns blue (which means
that its connected). But then, I can't see any users in the list. Not even
the Shopping Buddy thing.

Wouldn't be surprised! AOL often changes their protocol around and then
sends
a fix out to the official clients. I've had issues with Trillian in the
past
as well.
As for Kopete, I'm running kdenetwork3-InstantMesssenger 3.5.1-32.10@586and
cannot connect. I was fine last week. It just says, "connecting" in the
status bar. I only have an AIM account setup so I don't know if Y! or MSN
are
working.
