Sorry to break the thread, but I wanted to shut Kmail down and see if the suggestion worked. It didn't. I went to Settings>Configure Kmail>Appearance>Colors>New Message. which showed red, and snapped on that, and selected black, then I waited for a new message. Red. I really want the message listing to be in black. How?
To be more specific, if I haven't been, the message _text_ has been converted to black, by fiddling with this in the past. It's the _listing_ of messages, by sender, source and subject which comes up red on screen.
Hi Doug,
I can't tell from what you've written if:
a) you clicked 'apply' to save the color change and b) you closed KMail and relaunched it prior to checking if the color change 'took'
Carl Well, I thought it worked. Yes I shut down KMail, and then started it up again. It seemed like I was getting a listing in black. But now it's red again. I'm going to make it dark blue, or something, which it never is, and see if I can find a pattern.
