I tend to agree, cautiously, with your assessment David. I am also fortunate to have decided to install OpenSuSE as my main desktop system less than 48 hours ago following a failed Ubuntu upgrade. Dodgy disk? Maybe. I just so happened to have OpenSuSE on hand and decided to give it a go. Everything works, and YaST and Zen are very shiny indeed. So far I think it is VERY beneficial for Linux, 1. Microsoft is giving away 70.000 SUSE Linux Enterprise coupons 2. Microsoft is backing up (legally speaking) the MONO, Samba and Open Office projects and any Open Source programmer or company that works on OpenSuse.org projects. 3. Microsoft is telling everybody that if they want to use Linux they support SUSE Linux! 4. They are jointly developing Open Source Virtualization software
Could it be better?
