I want to upgrade X to Xorg 7.1. However, smart wants to remove all kde 3.4.5, which seems to be a generally bad idea... I see that others have upgraded to Xorg 7.1, but I see no discussion of the KDE issue. Anyone else done this upgrade?
I've been using latest KDE (3.5.4) and latest X.Org for a while now and I haven't seen any problems so far.
Try adding this repository to get the new X.Org 7.1: http://software.opensuse.org/download/xorg7/Java_Sun-Java-1.5_SUSE_Linux_10....
How did you update them? I am using smart. I can add this repo, but I am unsure how that will resolve the kdebase3 in 3.5.4 from wanting Xorg 6.9. Perhaps the real requirement is Xorg >= 6.9, and smart gets this wrong? -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems AB Ramböll Sverige AB Kapellgränd 7 P.O.
