I went to the Belkin Web Site and it says the warranty on their routers is LIFETIME! Now find that a little hard to believe. There has to be some fine print on that somewhere.
I actually bought a Belkin router with lifetime warranty and the first thing I asked was whether that would be my life or that of the router. :-) But no, really, as long as you keep the sales slip, remember where you put it and the retailer you bought it stays in business it looks like that is really true. My guess is that they are betting that in five years time no one would want a router of yesteryear.

The official legal definition is that the 'lifetime' is the lifetime of the Galapagos giant tortoise, or of the bristle-cone pine, whichever should be longer. The chief difficulty that has occurred in getting these (otherwise highly attractive) warranties honoured is that the companies concerned often hide behind the fact that they do not specify which individual tortoise or tree is meant. In the confused search for the right reptile they often slip away, leaving the customer stranded. -- Fergus Wilde Chetham's Library Long Millgate Manchester M3 1SB Tel: 0161 834 7961 Fax: 0161 839 5797 http://www.chethams.org.uk
