Hi all !
My response has nothing to do with this specific ATI driver bug, but I
will talk generally.
Generally I think that I would continue to file bugs to Novell
bugzilla and stay with openSUSE (because other's responses like Fedora
and Mandriva are much worser), even through not all bug gets fixed
quickly.
I have filled about 40+ bugs for SUSE Linux 10.0 BETA versions (since
BETA 1) but only about half were fixed before final release.
The alternative is to release better-tested products, but latter. i.e.
give more time for BETA-process.

From SUSE/Novell I would like to ask to try to respond quicker tocommunity's reports and fix bugs quicker.
