What is mayor difference between Suse and Ubuntu distribution?
Ubuntu has an updating system that is not a mess.
Suse has Yast, a GUI installer program which works very well to install RPM packaged programs. Notwithstanding the squawking from some Ubuntu users the updating system has been working fine except for a couple of weeks after release. Suse can install either KDE or Gnome desktop managers. Ubuntu, on the other hand is debian based, and uses apt-get which also offers a lot of software. There is a GUI installer but most of the people I know with Ubuntu prefer command-line installs. Ubuntu comes with GNOME installed as the default, but if you prefer KDE, you can look at Kubuntu.
