I'm running KDE under SuSE 10.0. I set the Pipes screensaver to activate after 30 minutes via the KDE control panel. But instead, some other screensaver comes up after perhaps 5 minutes. I haven't yet found who's activating that one. Any pointers?
Most likely, you are running some gnome software that causes gnome-settings-daemon to start If gnome-settings-daemon is running, the simplest way to prevent it from running a screen saver is to start gconf-editor, and go to apps->gnome_settings_daemon->screensaver and uncheck "start_screensaver"
