SuSE vintages

I've been using SuSE Linux since its early days (at least pre-5 but I think
much earlier than that). However, I don't always update to the latest
version. Some versions seem better than others, like wine vintages. Even
Chateau Rothschild had a few terrible years. From what I read here it seems
that 10.1 was not, on the whole, an improvement over 10.0, mainly because of
the updating problems.

So I'm wondering: has anyone noticed a pattern of merit among the x.0, x.1,
x.2, and x.3 versions? Or is it just random?

Paul
