I hit Ctrl-Alt-F1 and got to the desired command screen. How does one get back into the desktop without rebooting?
There must be a Howto somewhere for such things!
Ctrl+Alt+F7 will get you back to the X interface, if that's what you mean.
Just clarify this a bit: Ctrl-Alt-F7 will take you back to the first X session, which conventionally runs on terminal number 7. If you have multiple sessions logged in at once, you can use Ctrl-Alt-F8 (for example) to get the second session, C-A-F9 to get to the third... never tried more than 3. If you're running 2 sessions and the one on terminal 7 logs out, c-a-F7 will probably take you to the xdm (or kdm) login screen. -- ----- stephan@s11n.net http://s11n.net "...pleasure is a grace and is not obedient to the commands of the will." -- Alan W.
