Could you please help me with the following issue: By trying to format dvd-ram I am getting : ====================================== linux:/archive # mke2fs -b 2048 /dev/hdc mke2fs 1.38 (30-Jun-2005) /dev/hdc: Read-only file system while setting up superblock =========================================== or ( if I try another command): ======================= dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hdc bs=512 count=2 dd: opening `/dev/hdc': Read-only file system ======================= in /dev I have: brw-r----- 1 root disk 22, 0 Jun 26 08:07 /dev/hdc ======== /proc/sys/dev/cdrom/info says CD-ROM information, Id: cdrom.c 3.20 2003/12/17 drive name: hdc drive speed: 48 drive # of slots: 1 Can close tray: 1 Can open tray: 1 Can lock tray: 1 Can change speed: 1 Can select disk: 0 Can read multisession: 1 Can read MCN: 1 Reports media changed: 1 Can play audio: 1 Can write CD-R: 1 Can write CD-RW: 1 Can read DVD: 1 Can write DVD-R: 1 Can write DVD-RAM: 1 Can read MRW: 1 Can write MRW: 1 Can write RAM: 1 ============ I have TSSTcorp - CD/DVDW SH-S162A (with K3b I can write cd's and dvd+- r(w) without any problems) Any ideas why writing on dvd-ram does not work?
