Hi everyone, 1. What I am trying is to program in Java and manage to write my first 'Hello world' program. 2. With the help of two guys (Randall and Chuck) in the 'KDE' mailing list I managed to install 'Java' on my PC with YAST. As far as I can tell this went successfully. I have ended up with a collection of 10 'Java...' files and folders installed on my machine under '///home/user/point something' files and folders. (list attached). 3. My question is how do I go from here to program, save a program and execute it. When I get about it with 'Alt F2' and call on 'Java' I obtain a '/bin/sh' screen with a set of instruction inviting me to execute a class or Java options or to execute a jar file. Well... I am sitting in front of this screen not knowing how to run a Hello world or import 'java.applet' and 'java.awt'. Tks for help. Trust I am in the right mailing list to raise this question. Newbie.
