Since there's not yet a USB driver for my scanner, I guess I'll have to get a PCMCIA SCSI card for my laptop (Dell Inspiron 600m, but that shouldn't matter). So anyone know of a reliable PCMCIA SCSI card that is already supported by-- has drivers for-- 9.3 (I'm running kernel v.2.6.11.4-21.12-default, if that matters)??
Adaptec SlimSCSI 1460 or 1480. Used both, never had problems with either.
Yeah, the local Microcenter has the 1460 ($140). I'm guessing I'll need to get a special SCSI2 cable also... can't imagine a little PCMCIA car accepting the normal (huge) SCSI2 cable. So you didn't have to compile any drivers (or the kernel) to get it to work?
