I don't know if tisp problem was already solved, so here is my problem.
I have an ati X1600 XT (the monitor is a samsung lcd 1280x1024@75).
At installation the card was not recognized, but after a little investigation i found that ith vga=794 i can run at 1280x1024, but only with fbdev and hardware overlay does not work, so TvTime doesn't work too and kaffeine is extreeemly slow.
I have tried to install the ati drivers (8.25.8-1 for i386) but i get errors when i try to run
# sax2 -r -m 0=fglrx
(vga=795 does not work too)
