[SLE] YaST Hosed After Removing Mono-Core

In http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:Most_Annoying_Bugs it is advised:
zmd and beagle can cause longer system startup times. You can easily get rid of them by starting "zen-remover", then sarching for "mono-core", selecting it and clicking "remove". Reboot after that change.
OK, so I did that.
Now I have no way to manage software via YaST. The Installation Sources, Manage Software, and a number of other YaST modules were removed. I installed from cdroms, but then changed the installation sources to point to appropriate mirrors.
How do I recover from this, and shouldn't the wiki point out this consequence? Somehow leaving a system with no way to manage packages (other than downloading them by hand, resolving the dependencies manually, etc.) seems not quite optimal.
Please don't suggest I install apt or Smart. I don't want to use an unsupported method.
Thanks!
Mark
