No, it does not...
I just added a new user and, to be sure, rebooted and logged in as this new
user, then did nothing except clicking away the welcome message and
the "daily hint", then waited... Sreensaver doesn't start. (After waiting I
checked, if the screensaver was set to start automatically, and it was set
to "random" and to start after 4 minutes).
This is the output of 'xset q' (from new user):
Keyboard Control:
auto repeat: on key click percent: 0 LED mask: 00000002
auto repeat delay: 250 repeat rate: 30

(A 10.1 user wrote me that it works on 10.1, but other 10.0 users seem to have
