I have dell Inspiron 8500 with bcm4306 chipset wireless card. I installed the ndiswrapper-1.2-2 rpm from the Suse 10.0 DVD since I could not find one for the Suse 10.1 OSS. I do ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf and get Installed ndis drivers: bcmwl5 Forcing parameter IBSSGMode [0 to IBSSGMode [2 Forcing parameter IBSSGMode [0 to IBSSGMode [2 Then # ndiswrapper -l Installed ndis drivers: bcmwl5 driver present, hardware present # modprobe ndiswrapper # dmesg |grep ndiswrapper and I get nothing and /var/log/messages shows nothing. I found another email and tried # lspci which results in 02:03.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g wireless LAN controller (rev 02) # pcitweak -l which results in PCI: 02:03:0: chip 14e4,4320 card 1028,0001 rev 02 class 02,80,00 hdr 00 # ndiswrapper -d 14e4,4320 bcmwl5 results in '14e4,4320' is not valid device ID. also tried # ndiswrapper -d 1028,0001 bcmwl5 but that results in '1028,0001' is not valid device ID.
