Orn, I am assuming that is a 19" wide flat panel? What brand, and as someone who runs Linux, do you find yourself scrolling up and down a bunch? Or is it like other things, and once your used to it, you just adjust (or as a friend calls it, the Microsoft syndrome).
It's a 19" ViewSonic, nothing fancy just sufficient for my needs. The horizontal difference of 160 points between a 1280 and 1440 do give a better visualization, where you'll see more without actually tiling the windows side by side. The aspect ratio, allows me to use the panel, to view movies with more of the screen actually showing the movie (in 16:10). The size of the dots, .286 instead og .267 does clarify text a lot. The kind of applications, where a greater vertical resolution would give me more text to view, are mostly programming tools where I'd say no ... I don't find the difference to be noticable there. However, a monitor with a pivot function, for viewing text documents in A4 size ... is something I clearly see the advantages of, I just don't have that use for one. -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
