Have you set up ndiswrapper for the wireless driver yet? I have a Inspiron 6k, too, and it works with very little hassle in 10.1. The ndiswrapper packages come with openSUSE so make sure they are installed with YaST and follow the instructions here:
http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/Installation
Make sure you have the windows driver handy, too. In order to get my wireless working at boot, I also put the line "modprobe ndiswrapper" in my boot.local file.
Is this perhaps your problem?

Why not look at the docs at /usr/share/doc/packages/ndiswrapper. If your network connection is not working you can't use the web to look at docs. To load a module at boot add it to the appropriate line in /etc/sysconfig/kernel. P.S.
