I have first tried to install 10.1 on an older Dell Dimension P-III computer. It has a Dell P991 monitor and a GeForce FX 5200 card. During the install process, the P991 was correctly identified, but it was shown as being 17" instead of 19" and the resolution was listed as 1600-1200 (which is a bit absurd). But I could change these values with no problems.
One has an option to run a display test. I always do that, to make small adjustments. However, I had no ability at all to resize or shift the test screen. It does not appear to fill up the available area of my screen or to be centered. I have tried later by invoking SaX2 directly. No dice. In practice, the display turns out to be mostly OK (a little small, but centered). But why is there no control in SaX2?
I have a similar problem with an ASUS EN7300GS video card and IBM 9512 monitor. The size & position controls have no effect. My display is a bit too wide, so perhaps I've got some of your display here. ;-) -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
