[SLE] No sound after installation of Gnome packages to KDE desktop

Hi,

The sound (SBLive! 5.1) had worked OK in my SUSE 10.1 (KDE desktop
selection). I added some multimedia package from Gnome and the sound
stopped working.

I tried to reconfigure the sound card using the "YaST2 Sound" module
and the "KDE Control Center" but nothing helped. Pressing the "Test"
button does not result in any sound. Also, the restart of the ALSA
system doesn't help (rcalsasound restart).

Any suggestions? It seems to me that some of the Gnome multimedia
packages have reconfigured the sound system but I have no idea how to
revert back to the original (KDE) settings.
