Hi Peter,
I think you basically did the same thing I did in a roundabout way. I actually
removed the offending packages the day I installed 10.1... /before/ they'd
been properly initialized. I installed them again and immediately applied the
patches. Then I set up my installation sources. The updater is working
correctly at this end, too. Not too bad...

Hi Peter,
