Oh I can do that ok, Carl, I'm just puzzled because the monitor has been in all the other versions that I have used. Those being 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, and 10. Why suddenly drop it when there are still far older devices that are kept. It doesn't make sense.

Kevan, Did you check the actual database to see if the monitor was listed? I ask because, I just installed a new graphics card and connected an Acer AL1917 monitor to it. In checking the database file, I saw that this monitor was not listed, so I added it manually, so as to avoid setup difficulties later. Turns out it wasn't necessary, because apparently sax talked with the both the card and monitor, setting up both and adding the monitor to the database with all the correct settings!
Now, I'm not sure how long this has gone on, but I suspect for a while, because thinking back, the same thing happened with my ATI 9200 and the AOC 19" crt I had previously.
Now if in fact your monitor was already in the database file, it seems odd that it's not now, but you can add it yourself. If though, it was being read, as mine have been, then I would guess somebody quit talking to somebody or you've made a change in hardware.

Ah, now, does the list that comes up show all the stored monitors (& associated profiles) or is there a longer list? I noticed that my monitor had been picked up as a generic model. Hmmm, I thought, this is different. So, at this stage I opened up the list that is available when first installing. This is what I'm wondering about if this is indeed a full list. I cannot see why it wouldn't be but you never know :-) My puzzlement is more a worry that it may cause problems for a newcomer as, I have already stated, I can find out the settings and input them manually because I know how/what to do. No, no hardware changes at all in this particular set up. I honestly think there has been some pruning on the monitors list....why, I don't know? -- ============================================== I am only human, please forgive me if I make a mistake it is not deliberate. ============================================== PLEASE DON'T drink and drive it's not clever, it's just stupid.
