[SLE] archives full of spam

All, I just took a look at http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/2006-Jun/ I was surprised how much spam appears to be archived in there. I don't ever see most of that. Is the listserv filtering out all this spam, or is gmail doing it? If the listserv, is there a way to keep the spam out of the archives also?
