Since upgrading to 10.1, and after all the trouble getting it going properly, I notice that my 3D performance is not good at all. On my notebook (m200 with shared ram) I get 460 odd FPS with glxgears (less than I'm getting with the VESA driver with no hardware accel), where I used to get (in SUSE 10.1 and gentoo) just under 1000 FPS).
Has anybody else seen this?
I have had the exact same experience since upgrading to SuSE 10.1. ATI's 3D is dog slow and when I use the ATI driver the machine will lock up most of the time when I exit the Graphical environment. I have to switch to a virtual terminal, log in as root and change to runlevel 3, then again back to runlevel 5.
