Even mozilla can do that. I do that with fetchmail myself, my current 
provider has imap.

So, you should certainly look there, just in case your mail is there.

Try using midnight comander (mc). It can search for files anywhere with a 
certain  content. You can search for files containing your address or your 
signature.
