I will need the manual!
better then look here (the manual is on the cd, but not on paper
form, except minimal one and english/german only)

The manual is on the CDs/DVD you download/buy but it is only in a
file format (many files in fact) and if you want a printed copy
then you have to print it yourself. It's in the usual place-
/usr/share/doc/manual .

Thanks for your replies.

I prefer a printed manual and to print it out myself would be a big job. A book is much more portable than my computer for reading.

However, I'll use the manual on the DVD while I am trying 10.1. Then I'll make a decision whether to buy, keep using the cover version, or abandon 10.1 and go back to 10.0.

I have the information I need, but I am extending this thread too much. So I'll shut up now!

I should have mentioned this earlier..... From the comments I've seen from others, there is no manual for 10.1 with the purchased version- all you get is the (?)Start-up manual. The detailed manual which we all got to love in earlier versions is no more, and you have to print it out yourself (as I already intimated).

Cheers.
