[opensuse] MySql in Suse10.1

running app. and getting error;
"Can't connect to local MySql server through socket /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock"
The path /var/lib/mysql is there but no /mysql.sock , what do I have to do in MySql to get /mysql.sock ?
