This can only be achieved by setting at least some of them individually.

Actually I don't know if it's a good idea at all to set them in a
package, that's why /etc/sysconfig exists, but as it's not my package...

These are GNU extensions, the rest comes from The Single UNIX
Specification. Might explain the difference.
